Dr. George F. Saghy, age 88, of Okemos died Jan. 4, 2013. George was born November 24, 1924 in Listie, Pennsylvania; the son of Joseph and Anna (Chizmadia) Saghy. George was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie and son, Michael. He graduated from the University of Michigan Dental School and practiced for 50 years in Lansing. George proudly served his country in the United States Army in WWII. He loved spending time with his family to which he was fiercely devoted. He will be deeply missed by all and those fortunate to have known him will enjoy the many memories he is leaving behind. He is survived by his daughter Mary Hildenbrand and three sons; Thomas (Barbara), Robert (Ronda) and Douglas and 8 grandchildren: Roland, Rustin, Rane, Nichole, Bradley, Kiera, Brian and Cameron.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5pm-8pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing MI. A rosary will be prayed at 7:30pm. Those desiring may make contributions to Care Free Dental, 5135 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing, MI 48911, in memory of George. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
