George Ezell Sims – an 85 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile passed away Monday, November 26, 2012. He retired from International Paper after 42 years of service. Mr. Sims was a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines and was a 52 year Master Mason and member of the Howard E. Palmes Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his sons, George W. Sims and James E. Sims, Sr., and brother, John Earl Sims. He is survived by his wife, Louise Sims; grandchildren, Paul Sims, Debra Freeman (Lee), Yolanda Roberts (Scott), James E. Sims II (April), Kathy Silvers (Tommy), and Karl Sims; sisters, Eva Mae Preston and Pearl Stephenson; brother, Elwood Sims (Sarah); numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at 10 a.m. with Dr. Mack Morris officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will follow in Bay Minette Cemetery at 1:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the
