Georgia Ann Benes

March 13, 1922 - April 17, 2012
Georgia Ann (Vincik) Benes, age 90, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012. She was born March 13, 1922 in Shiner, Texas to the late Raymond and Annie (Wentrcek) Vincik. She attended Charlottenburg School. She married Mike Benes Jr. on April 25, 1943.
She enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, playing dominoes, scrapbooking and homemaking. She enjoyed cooking, and making big meals for her Family. She loved to dance and listen to Polka music. As a Den-Mother, she was interested in scouting and loved to watch her children and grandchildren play baseball. She worked at To'Rel, Tex-Tan, Shiner Hospital, and Senior Citizens. She was a past president of the Shiner Women's American Legion Auxiliary for 6 years. She was a member of United Dr. Martin Luther Church.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Ray Benes and wife Judy and Larry Benes and wife Maggie; sisters, Gladys (Vincik) Veit and Alice (Vincik) Svoboda; grandchildren, Michael S. Benes, Corey Benes, Kimberlee J. Benes, and Holly Rosales; great grandchildren, Cody and Tyler Jackson and Brycen and Dillon Rosales; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike Benes Jr.; and brother, Edwin Vincik.
The last ten years was blessed by the attention given to her at the Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Moulton. The Family would also like to express appreciation to the staff at the Yoakum Community Hospital and Dr. Tim Wagner.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Buffington Funeral Home. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 pm Friday. The Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the United Dr. Martin Luther Church, with the Rev. Elaine M. Gomulka officiating. Burial will follow at the Shiner Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Benes, Albert Dye, Frank Rosales, Corey Benes, Michael Benes, and Mark Knobles. Honorary pallbearers include Pat Veit, Bruce Benes, Jimmy Benes, Ronnie Benes, and Pat Benes.
