Georgia L. Peters, 94, passed away December 11, 2012, at Carmel Hills Health Care. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to charity of choice. Georgia was born March 2, 1918 in Coffeyville, Kansas. She had volunteered at the Medical Center of Independence. She enjoyed her neighborhood Bingo club, watching birds, gardening, and traveling the world. Georgia loved going to the Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends, water-skiing well into her 70's. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 wonderful years, William Peters; son Richard Wells; twin sister Georgia Marie Herdman; sister Helen Hern; and brothers Charles, Tom, Robert and John Vestal. Georgia is survived by her grandchildren Tammy Wells-Rains, Debbie (Steve) Crable, Tina (Troy) Cannon, Cindy (Steve) Hill and Marty (Milady) Peters; daughter-in-law Patricia Peters; sister-in-law Juanita Vestal; wonderful nieces Lorene Prewitt and Doris Linneman; and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
