Gertrude Seman Allison (nee Drain), a longtime Yonkers and Yorktown Heights resident, died on Friday January 15, 2010 at St. Johnland Nursing Home in Kings Park, N.Y. She was 82 years old. She was a born on September 20, 1927 to John and Helen Fennell Drain in Yonkers where she was raised and educated, graduating from Commerce High School. Mrs. Allison was a bookkeeper for the Yonkers Police Department for many years until her retirement. In retirement, she enjoyed spending winters in Florida, being with her family, entertaining and being Irish. She was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. On May 11, 1947, she married Michael Seman in St. Joseph's Church in Yonkers. Mr. Seman died on June 30, 1985. She married her second husband, Farrell Allison on August 26, 1989 in Yonkers. Mr. Allison died on December 5, 2008. Mrs. Allison is survived by her three sons, Michael Seman and his wife, Debbie of Northport, N.Y., Robert Seman and his wife, Vivian of Eastchester, N.Y. and Kevin Seman and his wife, Meg of Palm City, FL., one brother, John Drain of Poughkeepsie and three sisters, Mary West of Yonkers, Theresa Decker of Charlestown, R.I. and Lorraine O'Brien of Shenorock, N.Y. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Christopher, Alison, Jeffrey, Brian, Shannon, Tierney and Daniel. She was pre-deceased by two brothers and two sisters, William, James, Helen and Dorothy Drain. Visitation will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday January 19th at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
