Machado, Gilbert, 85, of Tampa passed away May 24, 2014. Born and raised in the Fall River area of Massachusetts, Gilbert has been a Tampa Bay resident for over 15 years. He was preceeded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Irene Machado. Survivors include his daughter, Donna J. Machado of Tampa; brother, Edmond Machado of Massachusetts; and many nephews, nieces, and close friends who loved him dearly. Gilbert served in the United States Army and was a Korean War veteran. He had a passion for ballroom dancing and met his wife while dancing and together they continued to dance during their entire marriage. In his last days, the only thing he would respond to was his wedding song, Can I Have This Dance For the Rest of My Life. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
