Giorgio Chinaglia

January 24, 1947 - April 1, 2012
Giorgio Chinaglia, 65, of Naples, FL, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at home with his loving family surrounding him.

He was born in Carrara, Italy January 24, 1947. Soccer super star and Hall of Fame legend, winner of 1974 Italian cup with SS Lazio. Italian national team forward from 1970 to 1974, five time NASL soccer bowl champion with New York Cosmos, and current record holder for most goals scored in the NASL with 242 goals in 254 games.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Angela; his loving and adored children, Anthony, Donald, George, Stephanie, and Cynthia. They will miss their father greatly and remember him always. Also surviving arehis sister, Rita Chinaglia; sister-in-law, Barbara and her husband, Jeffrey Charig; and nephew, Giulio II of New Jersey. We will all mourn his absence.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012 with Funeral on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Avenue North, Naples, FL 34108.
