Glenn Ray Tunnell, 77, of College Station, passed away early Sunday morning, April 13, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Health Care in Bryan. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday April 16, 2014 from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and Thursday April 17, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Bright Light Baptist Cemetery, 11234 Highway 30 East, College Station, Texas with Reverend Matthew Calhoun officiating.
Glenn was born to Ruby Jones and Carey James Tunnell on January 18, 1937 in Port Arthur, Texas. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur in 1955. He entered Nurses Training at Hotel Dieu Hospital School of Nursing in Beaumont, Texas and married Doris Jo Jones on October 24, 1957. He then entered Anesthesia School at Harris Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas. After graduation from Anesthesia School, he and Doris moved to Bryan in 1962 where he joined and became a partner with the Bryan Anesthesia Group until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carey and Ruby Tunnell.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Tunnell of Bryan; his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kim Tunnell of Bryan; his daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and Jeff Tilson of Franklin; one brother, Milford Tunnell of Woodville, Texas; one sister, Ola Bea Jones of The Groves, Texas; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
