AKER, Grace Olive Shumate Hardy, age 85, was born Jan. 14, 1927 in Nashville, TN. She passed away on June 9, 2012. Grace is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Priscilla Shumate; brother Charles Shumate, Jr.; sister Susan Shumate; husband Ervin Hardy and husband Frank Aker. She is survived by her sons David (Carol) Hardy and Alan (Harriette) Hardy; step son Jerry (Donya) Aker and step daughter Pam (Gale) Woods; brother Robert (Beulah) Shumate; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She graduated from David Lipscomb and was a faithful member at Madison Church of Christ. Grace will always be remembered for being a wonderful mother and grandmother. Visitation will be held from six until eight o’clock in the evening on Monday, the 11th of June, at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30PM on Tuesday, the 12th of June, in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with visitation held one hour prior. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
