Grace Ethel Cormier, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.
She was a native of Moss Bluff for more than 60 years. She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. Grace was a member also of the Good Sam's Camping Club. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports and she herself loved all sports, she also enjoyed gardening and working in her yard and camping, she especially loved having her family around her.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Prestridge and husband Glenn of Toledo Bend; Elaine Harlow and husband Freddy of Moss Bluff; Lynn Pierce and husband Bob of Moss Bluff; Ginger Kennedy and husband Alan of Moss Bluff; Pam Abshire and husband Dale of Ragley; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents Armas and Carrie LeJeune; her husband, Evans (Evance) Cormier; a daughter, Deborah "Lil Debbie" Cormier; a brother, Willard LeJeune; and a sister, Cecile Thibodeaux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Mgsr. Charles DuBois will officiate. Pallbearers assisting in her service will be Mike Prestridge, Jeremy Harlow, Josh Heisser, Jody Harlow, Russell Trotti, Glen Monceaux, Travis Heisser, Donovan Pierce, David Kennedy, Alan Kennedy. Interment will take place at Old Ritchey Cemetery in Moss Bluff. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff from 3-9 p.m. Friday. Visitation on Saturday will be 8-9 a.m. prior to dismissal for the service. Rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 6 p.m.
