Hubert H. Brown, 90, passed away March 12, 2011. He was born in Ariton, Alabama. Hubert was an ordained minister of the Assembly of God. He previously pastored churches in Columbus, Scottsdale, Stockbridge, Hogansville, Americus, Dublin and Vienna, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 beautiful years, Elmeda; his parents, Henry and Rosella Edwards Brown; brothers, Espy and Melvin Brown; sisters, Vera Danner, Lois Sutton and Lillian Register. He is survived by his daughters, Virginia Mathis and Cynthia Earl; grandchildren, Brian H. (Julie) Mathis, Charity A. (Michael) Pilch and Nathan K. Earl; great-grandchildren, Kamisa L. Pilch, Patrick J. and Walker J. Mathis; brother, Jack Brown; sister, Elizabeth Marshall; in-laws, Thelda Hagler Burgess, Hilda Hagler Barefield, Annie Hagler (Talmadge) Herring, Howard Hagler (Lois) and Eunice Hagler Birge; many nieces, nephews, extended family and wonderful friends. The family will greet friends Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main St. (Gate 5).
