Hans Wold was born in Witten, South Dakota on April 6, 1925. He passed of natural causes on May 15, 2013 in Mukilteo, WA.
He served in the Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart, Silver Star and Bronze Service Star.
He graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Journalism and English. After college Hans moved to Mukilteo where he met and married Margrette Hyland. They moved to Anacortes, WA where he worked in the newspaper business until 1964. Hans then attended Western Washington University where he received his Master's degree. He then began a career as an educator and taught English and Journalism at Cascade High School where he retired from in 1980.
Hans was a gifted artist, writer and musician. He loved playing country and bluegrass with groups of friends.
Hans was the youngest son of a Baptist Minister and loved his church. He enjoyed meeting with his fellow Christians every Monday and Friday. He especially loved his Men of Integrity group.
Hans was preceded in death by his wife,
Margrette; and eight brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving family of four children: Norma Hyland (Robert Czachor), Adell Nunnally (John), Hans S. Wold
(Darlene) and Martin Wold (Wenju); grandchildren: John Nunnally, Jameson Nunnally, Zachariah Bryson, Daniel Bryson, Joy Bryson, Nicholas Solheim, Andrew Solheim, Simon Wold; and eleven great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
