Harold Ashmore, 83, of Rudy, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 in Van Buren. He was born May 16, 1927 in London, Arkansas. He retired after 39 years at Virginia Hardwood in Monrovia, California. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Ashmore; and two brothers, L.D. Ashmore and Cletus Ashmore.
He is survived by his wife, Sybil Ashmore of the home; two daughters, Linda Barboza and her husband, Sal of Van Buren, AR and Cathy Hubbard and her husband, Paul of Van Buren, AR; one son, David Ashmore and his wife, Betty of Van Buren, AR; three sisters, Metta Wilson of Desert Palm Springs, CA, Sue Leding of Tulsa, OK, Patricia Smith of Van Buren, AR; four brothers, Marvin Ashmore of Choteau, OK, Ray Ashmore of Tulsa, OK, Jimmy Ashmore of Laverne, CA, and Larry Ashmore of Covina, CA; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 6, 2010 at First Assembly of God Church in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be John Dabney, Danny Dabney, Anthony Hubbard, Donny Hubbard, Clifton Ashmore, David Ashmore, Melinda Brodie, Sara Canova, and Traci Beck.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR.
