Harold Gene Benfield, 55, of Morganton, NC formerly of Old Fort, NC passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Grace Hospital.
He was born June 23, 1956 in Burke County, NC to Lois Marie Benfield of Old Fort, NC and to the late Donald Ray Benfield.
In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Deborah.
Surviving are his wife, Vanessa Carver Benfield of the home; two sons, Harold Gene Benfield, Jr. of Morganton, NC and Donald Ray Benfield of the home; two daughters, Nicole Howard and husband, Steve of Asheville, NC and Anglia Walker and husband, Joe of Marion, NC; one brother, Frank Benfield of Old Fort, NC; and three sisters, Vicki, Teresa and Tammy; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Kirksey Funeral Chapel in Old Fort, NC. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Kirksey Funeral Chapel in Old Fort, NC with Rev. James Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Community Cemetery.
