Harry E. King, 74, formerly of Enola, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, Altoona, PA where he has resided since fall of 2000.
He was born June 15, 1938 in Harrisburg, son of the late Harry C. and Joan (Crouthamel) King.
He was a veteran serving in the United States Coast Guard. After retirement from the Coast Guard, he also retired as a Deputy Sheriff with Cumberland County then managed security for the Harrisburg Hilton. He was a graduate of Catholic High, Class of '56.
He is survived by his wife Sandra L. King, of Mechanicsburg, PA, children: Deanna L. Serlin and her husband Steve, of Mechanicsburg; Pamela J. Gorman, her husband Eric and a granddaughter Samantha, of Hummelstown; Deborah Peters, her husband Brian, grandchildren Derek, Jordan and Megan and great grandson Derek, Jr., of Duncannon; and Richard King, his wife Arlene and grandsons Andrew and Ryan, of Fayetteville, NC. Also surviving Harry are his sister Noreen (King) Howard, of New Providence and brother Robert King, of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph King of Harrisburg.
Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2012, from Neill Funeral Home, Inc. 3401 Market St. Camp Hill, with visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Conrad, Jr. of Marysville Pentecostal Church of God. Interment will be private.
