Hazel (Roach) Allen, 91, of Lufkin, daughter of the late Larissa (Nerren) and Robert Lee Roach, was born September 26, 1919 and passed away March 17, 2011 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Allen was a good homemaker, an excellent cook and always took special care of her family. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and quilting. She was always tending, hoeing and caring for her flower gardens. She could strike a tune on any instrument she picked up. Mrs. Allen was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Glenda Allen; grandson and wife, John and Jaime Allen; great-granddaughters, Britteny Allen, Shelby Allen and Mikaylah Allen, all of Lufkin; and numerous nephews, one niece, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents; husband, L. A. "Tack" Allen on February 15, 1993; infant daughter, Karen Kay Allen; grandson Todd Allen in 2001; three brothers, Eugene Roach; Thomas Roach and Mancel Roach.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Roach, Kenneth Roach, Austin "Bubba" Roach, Kevin Roach, David Seale and Terry Allen.
Services for Mrs. Allen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bud Davis and Bro. Josh Reneau officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home
