Helen M. Quesnell was born on December 29, 1926 in Toppenish, Washington to Bert and Helen Guns.
She was raised in Zillah, Washington. Helen moved to Yakima after grade school and attended Yakima
Valley High School. After High School, she worked for Ma-Bell as an operator and became a clerk for
Pacific Northwest Bell where she retired after 31 years. When she was 19, she met and fell in love with
Robert W. Quesnell. The two were married on June 19, 1946 and have been side by side for the last 67 years.
Together, they had two sons, Stephen and Robert. Helen was a member of the telephone pioneers of
Washington, VFW #379, American Legion Auxiliary #162, and Moose Lodge #521. She enjoyed fishing
with family and friends in their Lund fishing boat, and traveling to Westport and Arizona in the family
motorhome. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Helen, and her daughter-in-law
Mary. Helen is survived by her husband Robert, her oldest son Steve Quesnell and his wife Sandy;
younger son Robert L. Quesnell and companion Karen Purnell; four grandchildren, Kim Hansen (Eric),
Tresa Quesnell (Mike Wilske), Chad Quesnell (Heather), Nicole Tabert (Carey); 7 great grandchildren,
Ashley Chambers, Kyler Hansen, Cole Tabert, Callie Tabert, Blake Gefroh, Emma Quesnell, and Carissa
Quesnell. Two great great grandchildren are on the way, Hudson Chambers and Rylan Hansen.
