Henry R. Agnew, 96, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the NJ Fireman's Home in Boonton, NJ. Born in Gourock, Scotland, Henry had lived in Old Bridge before moving to Boonton. He was a fireman for the City of Newark for 30 years retiring in 1979; and had also worked part time for Newark Testing Laboratories for 30 years. He enjoyed golf, fishing, horse racing, and loved spending time with family and friends. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard; member of the American Legion; and member of the Old Bridge VFW Post 7508.
Henry was predeceased by his wife, Muriel; and his granddaughter, Alison. He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Christine & Carl Moore; his daughter and son in law, Linda & Al Hawthorne; his daughter and son in law, Leslie & Ray Scardelli; his grandchildren: Amy, Cory, Shauna, Nick, & Alyssa; and his great grandchildren, Delaney, Camryn, & Hadley.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 4-7pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ.
