Henry Peter Benthien was born on July 2, 1929 in Tacoma, WA to Peter and Agnes Benthien, and passed away on August 15, 2010. Pete served in the Air Force Intelligence in Korea, and after completing 5 years and 8 months of military service, attended the College of Puget Sound. He was the owner of Ben-Mac Motors in Tacoma for 35 years, served as a past President of the Pierce County Used Car Dealer Association, was a senior member of the Tacoma Yacht Club, and an avid boater for most of his adult life. He also greatly enjoyed his vacations to Maui and Europe with his wife. Pete always said he had a good life and never thought he would live as long as he did. He was a loving father and husband and will be greatly missed. Pete leaves behind his wife Carol, daughters Laura (Tom) McKee, Linda Flannigan, and Leslie Benthien, grandsons Jonathan and Cameron McKee, sisters Doris Leamon and Evelyn Mullen, step-daughters Lori (Theron) Lindquist and Jeri (Steve) Sparks, step-grandchildren Randi, Kami, T.J., Laci and Austin, mother-in-law Barbara Cordes, and some good friends. A remembrance reception will be held on Saturday, August 21st from 2-4 pm at the Best Western Park Plaza Hotel, 620 South Hill Park Drive, Puyallup, WA 98373 for those who wish to attend.
