Howard "Dean" Bousum, 73, of Kokomo, Indiana went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, September 19th, 2012. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana on September 17th, 1939. Dean was married to Wendy (Todd) Bousum on May 22nd, 1999.
He graduated from Burlington High School in 1957. Later in life he continued his education to receive his bachelor's degree from Indiana University Kokomo. For 25 years, he worked at Continental Steel of Kokomo in the rod mill until it closed in 1986. He recently retired from his most recent job at Kokomo Housing Authority in Kokomo.
Dean's hobbies included entering his cars in many car shows, attending James Dean Festivals and playing Santa Claus at Christmas time. Also, who can forget his haunted houses he made for all to enjoy at Halloween time. Dean was so much fun and loved much by everyone, he will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy (Todd) Bousum of Kokomo and two children, Josh Bousum of Kokomo and Misty (Bousum) Booher of Noblesville. He is also survived by three stepchildren, seven grandchildren, seven siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard E. Bousum and Genevieve (Cohee) Bousum of Kokomo.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 11 am with Rabbi Dennis Sasso officiating at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. The family is requesting to send wind chimes instead of flowers if possible.
