Born March 29, 1944 in Lansing, the son of the late Arthur and Flora (Bennett) Buck, passed away December 8, 2012 at the age of 68. Howard was a graduate of Holt High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1967 – 1969. He retired from General Motors in 2005 after 41 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law; father-in-law; son-in-law, Lloyd Niswonger; brother, Walton; sister, Arlene Robertson; brother-in-law, Lyle Robertson; and sister-in-law, Donna Buck. Surviving to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 43 years, Jane; children, Julia (Charles Slaughterbeck) Niswonger, David (Tracey) Buck, Brian Buck; grandchildren, Brittney, Bristol, Billy, Beth, Tracy, Scott and Robert; sister, Peggy (Philip) Byington of Vermontville; brothers, Arthur Buck of Clinton, MI and Jon (Connie) Buck of Sykesville, MD; sister-in-law, Ruth Buck; and brother-in-law, James Hammond of Greenville, AZ. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 13th at Parker Memorial Baptist Church, 1902 E. Cavanaugh Rd., Lansing. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 12th at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing.
