Moberly, Howard Dean, Ph.D, 79, a resident of Montgomery, passed away on Saturday, March 09, 2013. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ardith Moberly. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy, and two sisters, Patsinell Kohlmeyer and Evelyn MaVeety, both of Evansville, Indiana and six nieces. He served in the United States Air Force from 1953 – 1957, prior to beginning university studies. He holds degrees from Abilene Christian University, Texas Tech University and Texas A & M University. He retired in 1997 as Professor of Economics at Auburn University at Montgomery at which time he was named "Professor Emeritus of Economics", an indication of his distinguished career. He was a member of numerous professional societies and was co-editor of the Southern Business and Economics Journal for many years. He was a faithful member of the University Church of Christ and a supporter of numerous worldwide mission efforts. Memorial donations may be made to the University Church of Christ Benevolent Fund. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alabama Heritage Funeral Home.
