A Mass of Christian Burial for Irene K. (Hinson) Keisler, 83, of Columbia, will be held 1:00 pm Monday, February 1, 2010 at St. Peter's Catholic Church Columbia with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Sunday evening at Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington. Mrs. Keisler passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010. She was born in New York City, NY on May 4, 1926 to the late Jack and Freda Kelly. She was a graduate of Columbia College, and had previously owned Irene's Hairstyling salon. She then began work with Midlands Technical College, where she retired after 15 years of dedicated service. Irene was well-known for her service as "Snooks The Clown" at area children's hospitals. She was a long-time member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Bryant Hinson (Tina-Marie); daughters, Sherri Sayas (Joe) and Renee Baggett; step-son, Michael Keisler; grandchildren, Michael, Rebecca, Kelly, Nikki and Gary; and great-grands, Michael, Javier, Daniel, David, Cedric, Nathinal and Stephinie. She was predeceased by her first husband of 45 years, Bryant Wm. Hinson and her second husband of 10 years, Charles Keisler; her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
