ARTRIP, Irene (Gwizdz) – Age 76, of Waterford, formerly of Flint and Lapeer went to be with her Lord Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Mrs. Artrip was born February 26, 1935 in Flint the daughter of Rose and Frank Gwizdz. She graduated from All Saints Catholic School in 1953. In 1957 Irene married Bob Artrip in Flint. She moved to Lapeer, retired from J.C. Penny in 1997, moved to Texas before returning to Waterford. Surviving are children, Mary Artrip of Waterford, Rozanne Mensik of Texas, David (Lisa) Artrip of Commerce; grandchildren, Brandon, Michael, Callie and Bryan; sisters, Janet Hyde, Frances Hibbard; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Artrip was preceded in death by her husband Bob July 19, 2000 and sisters, Mary Valkoun, Ann Mitoraj, Hedy Ruth. Friends may visit the family from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 at All Saints Catholic Church. Father Anthony Majchrowski will officiate. Burial will follow at new Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
