Iva O. Adkins
Iva Obeda "Bea" Adkins, 95, passed away Feb. 17, 2011 at Worthington Manor.
Iva was born in Myra, WV on May 30, 1915, a daughter of the late George F. and Hulda Jane Hayes Miller. She was a long time resident of Parkersburg and she and her husband owned and operated the Open Gate Motel.
She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Betty Miller; great-nieces, Debbie Miller McComas Emily "Susie" Greathouse, both of Parkersburg, and Earlena Brown of Wheeling; great-nephew, George Dana Miller, also of Parkersburg; and a host of nieces, nephews and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Adkins; six sisters; and four brothers.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Joe Bush officiating. Burial will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, WV.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
