On December 9, 2011,Alice Jane Gilbert Cooper Adams of Vestavia Hills was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She graduated from West End High School and attended Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, substitute teacher, secretary, and very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her son, Greg Cooper; brother, Jim Gilbert; and husband James E. Adams. She is survived by her children, Janie (Ken) Thompson, Randy Cooper, Jimmy Ray (Paula) Cooper; two step sons, three step daughters; 10 grandchildren; nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, December 12, 2011 beginning at 1:00 pm at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Cemetery. The family would like to thank Heritage Nursing Home in Tuscaloosa, Southern Care Hospice, and Ritten House for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Humane Society.
