Jack S. Ames, 75, of Fort Smith, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012, in Fort Smith. He was born November 5, 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa. He was retired Security Guard for Baldor Electric, a member of the Catholic Church and a Army Veteran.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Barham officiating. Burial will be at National Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife Onada, son Jack "J.J." Ames of Barling, AR and two brothers Richard Ames of La Crescent, MN and Ron Ames of Holts Summit, MO.
Pallbearers will be Jack "J.J." Ames, John Mobley, Jr., Blair Lively, Joe Martin, Ricky Smith and Kris Wilson.
The family will greet friends Wednesday, January 11, 2011, from 6:00 PM-7:30 PM at the funeral home.
