Jack Shigeki Slaght was more than just a man. He was a son, father, soldier, laborer and fisherman. He was a good friend and beloved family member to many.
He was born in Kyoto, Japan but was raised in Redding, California where he spent most of his time hunting and fishing.
After high school he joined the U.S. Army where he served for one tour in Vietnam.
Jack spent most of his adult life in the bay area, where he worked hard to provide for his only child. After 30 long years of working at Calstone he retired and moved back to Redding to care for his aging Mother.
His battle with cancer was short, but his fight was valiant. He may be gone but he is not forgotten.
He is forever in our hearts.
