James Robert Atkins, 58, of Julian passed away on Monday, August 13, 2012 at The Hospice Home of Alamance County.
James retired in 2004 from the NC DOT in Guilford County. He was a member of Red Cross Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Red Cross Baptist Church, 2961 Monda Road, Climax, NC; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty.
Surviving are his parents, James and Joyce Patrum Ferguson; daughter, Holli Fogleman (Jarod); son, Lucas Atkins; grandson, Clinton Fogleman; sisters, Phyllis Holder, Cecilia Chester and Pam Graves; brothers, William and Joe Michael Atkins.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Hospice Home of Alamance County for their gracious care and support.
