James Hubert Beachboard, 83, passed away at home on October 15, 2011. Jim was born in Asheville, North Carolina on September 24, 1928 to Oscar and Chetta (Lanning) Beachboard.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Shelton, Collins) Beachboard, and by daughter Lois Collins of Asheville, North Carolina; by parents, Oscar and Chetta Beachboard; by brothers Wayne and Ray Beachboard; by sisters Mae Sisk, Pansy Rhodes, and Barbara Conard, all of Asheville North Carolina.
James is survived by his sons. William Kenneth Collins, Onalaska, Dan Collins, James Robert Beachboard, Chehalis: his daughter Barbara Ann (Beachboard) Haase, Chehalis; and his close friend Deborah Sue (Guenther) Beachboard, Chehalis;
... by his brother and sister, Herbert Beachboard and Marie (Beachboard) Penland, both of Asheville, North Carolina;
... by his grandsons, Dan Collins of Onalaska, Kenneth Wayne Collins of Chehalis; by granddaughters Cheyenna (Collins) Smith of Chehalis, Andrea Collins, and Nicole J. Putas of Coos Bay, Oregon,
For a number of years James acted as Guardian/Foster Father to four of Deborah Beachboard's nephews and is survived by Jacob Philip II, Victor Lee, Christopher William, and Edward Joseph Guenther all of Adna, Washington.
James is also survived by several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
James was proud of his service in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was also very proud of his grandson Wayne's current active service in the Army, his nephews Jacob and Victor's current service in the Washington State National Guard, and his nephew Edward's current active service in the Navy.
