Jim Bieri died peacefully at home on Thursday morning, June 2, 2011 in Twin Falls.
He was born in Salmon, Idaho to Ed and Helen Bieri. He grew up with four wonderful sisters - Ann, Marta, Susan, and Betty. After graduating from Highland High School, he moved to Moscow, Idaho where he played football for the University of Idaho. He also attended Idaho State University (ISU) where he earned a degree in Business in 1972. During his time at ISU he met and fell in love with his wife Stefanie. They enjoyed camping in their camper trailer during the summer, working on their home and garden, and were to celebrate their 40th anniversary on October 9th. Following in his father's footsteps, he became a State Farm Agent in 1974, and built many lasting friendships, always treating his clients as friends. He has two daughters, Joanna who is a Math Professor in Redlands, California and Kristin who is a Chiropractor in Glenelg, Australia. He was a loving and supportive father who encouraged his daughters to do great things and reminded them to look for the finer things in life. He loved to spend time outdoors with his family where he taught his "girls" to love camping, fishing, hiking, and watching thunderstorms. He supported his family and community in everything he did. He was everyone's go-to guy . He was a member and past president of the Twin Falls Optimist club and he started the Twin Falls Rural Fire District. In support of is daughters' swimming, he was an official, and president, of Snake River Swimming. He worked tirelessly on the Cover the Pool Committee, and is one of the main reasons that the Twin Falls High School has a swim team. We will always remember Jim's smiling face looking up from his garden, making each day brighter for his family and friends. He was a true rustic drifter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Susan. He is survived by his sisters, his children Joanna (Ross) Bieri and Kristin Bieri, and his wife Stefanie.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 161 6th Ave. East, Twin Falls with Fr. Andrew Baumgartner officiating.
