BOPP, James F., Sr., longtime Norwood resident, passed away on January 23, 2013. He was 89.
Born in Roxbury, Mr. Bopp enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a proud member for 70 years of the Sprinklerfitters, Local #550.
He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy E. (Smith) Bopp; loving father of Dorothy Bothwell and her husband William, James F. Bopp, Jr. and his wife Phyllis, Joseph Bopp and his wife Diane, Francis Bopp and his wife Charlene, Stephen Bopp, Nancy Martin, Theresa McElroy, and the late Geraldine Bopp and Mary Green. He was also survived by 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 29th at 10:00am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood on Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:30am, prior to the Mass.
