My children and I lived next door to Jim and Peggy for many years. Their friendship is a cherished memory for all of us. My husband, Chris Clonch, embraced the Cohen's a prised friends and our friendship flourished for another 25 years after we moved off of Candy Lane. Our condolences to Peggy. Pat Clonch/King

O Lord, what is man that you recognize him? The son of a frail human that You reckon with him?
Man is like a breath, his days as a passing shadow. In the morning it blossoms and is rejuvenated, by evening it is cut down and brittle.
According to the number of our days so may You teach us; then we shall acquire a heart of wisdom.
Safeguard the perfect and watch the upright, for the destiny of that man is peace.
But God will redeem my soul from the grip of the Lower World, for He will take me, Selah!
My flesh and my heart yearn-Rock of my heart, and my portion is God, forever.
Thus the dust returns to the ground as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
May God give a perfect peace to the family of James Cohen. "Jimmy", as I always knew him, mastered the art of blending a business sense with kindness, common sense with compassion. Always the first to speak when we entered the store, he was the face of Mack & Dave's all the way back to the 1960's when dad and I would spend our Saturdays talking to Howard Kennedy in the gun dept.
A wise rabbi once said that "if you walk a straight path you will meet upright people." I truly met an upright man in James Cohen.
He will be sadly missed. My prayers go out to you.

Like many tri-state musicians I shopped Mack & Dave's since I was a teenager and later worked for Davey. Often Jimmy would come over from furniture and share a story or joke with us. There was no one like him and he will always remain a fixture and presence in the store to all who knew him. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
