James Calvin Easley, 88, of Redding went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 14th at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Jimmy, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was a long time resident of the Redding area.
Jimmy was a World War II veteran where he served as a Carpenter’s Mate, Third Class in the U.S. Navy. Jimmy served with the Carrier Air Service Unit 47, Combat Aircraft Service Unit 49 and on the USS Santee. During his service to our country Jimmy served in the Palau Theatre and was awarded the Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Medal and was honorably discharged in 1944.
Jimmy spent the majority of his working career with Peterson Tractor, first as a heavy machinery mechanic then wrapping up his career as the northern Division Regional Manager where he oversaw the north state and coastal regions.
Jimmy was a 32 degree Mason and a Shriner. He was raised in Reading Lodge 254 on November 13th 1957 and was honored for 50 years of service in 2007.
Jimmy was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years Reba Jean Easley, his brother Paul, sisters Geneva, Wanda, Martha and Mary.
He leaves behind his brother Gale and his wife Mary Jo and children, his sister-in-law Shirley Easley and children. Jimmy leaves three daughters behind, Kay Williamson, Linda Gianinni and Donna Judson and son-in-law Steve Judson. He also leaves behind grandson Jason Chipley and wife Denise along with their children Melissa and Cassidy, granddaughter Christy Hudson and husband Tim along with their children Courtney and J.D., granddaughter Shelby Stilwell and husband Joe along with their children Jackson and Emma, granddaughter Erin Champion and husband Tom along with their children Camille and Grant, grandson Jesse Toten and his wife Jennifer and their son Cody.
Jimmy touched many lives in his 88 years on this earth and will be loved and missed by all his family and friends.
