Mr. James W. "Jim" Meyer, 74, passed away on March 9, 2013 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Jim retired to Savannah in 2001 from Peoria, Illinois. He worked as a Computer Engineer with Caterpillar, Inc. and was previously a Professor at the University of Minnesota, Purdue University and Eureka College. Jim thoroughly enjoyed living in Savannah and especially loved his tennis club. He was a member of the USTA and was an alumni of John Hopkins.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Margaret Meyer and son, Yvon Meyer.
Surviving are his loving wife, Ann Meyer; daughter, Julia Gray (Rodney); two step-sons, Ric Mele (Teresa) and Chris Mele (Pam); brother, Don Meyer; sister, Anne Bergere (Roger); five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.
The family would especially like to thank the team from the Neuro Intensive Care at Memorial Hospital for their care and concern.
