James R. "Chief" Sefchick

April 22, 1956 - December 3, 2012
James "Chief" Sefchick, 56, died Monday, December 3, 2012 at William Childs Hospice House. Chief was born in Ligonier, PA. April 22, 1956 the son of the late Joseph and Anne (Fedorko) Sefchick. "Chief" came to Brevard County in 2004 after a distinguished 24 year career in the U.S. Navy, including participation in "Operation Iraqi Freedom" retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He then worked for the Brevard County School Board at Bayside High where he taught in the NJROTC program. Chief was also an avid baseball and Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well as a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

"Chief" is survived by his wife June, his step son Sean Montgomery and his wife Amanda; his step-daughter Allyssa Montgomery; his daughter Julia and his brothers Joseph and his wife Janet and John and his wife Connie; and his granddaughter Kenzie Edwards. He is also survived by 4 nephews and 1 niece. He was preceded in death by his Parents Joseph and Anne and a son James Robert Jr.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at Fountainhead Funeral Home. A graveside service with Military honors will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
