Jane Elizabeth Barbee of Carrollton passed away in her home on February 7, 2012.
Born in London, Ontario, Canada, on February 9, 1961, she came to Texas at the age of 3 with her parents. Jane grew up in Amarillo where she graduated from Tascosa High School. She was very active in extracurricular activities and excelled as the first chair flute player, head twirler, and band queen in her high school orchestra.
Following high school, Jane graduated with a bachelor's degree from West Texas A&M University (formerly West Texas State University) in Canyon, TX. She subsequently worked as a computer programmer and information systems specialist for several companies in Texas.
Jane married Brent Barbee, the love of her life, in Amarillo on July 11, 1981. After beginning married life in Amarillo, Jane and Brent lived in several other locations in Texas including Wichita Falls, Waco, and Tyler. They have resided in Carrollton since 1994. She fought her battle with cancer for over 20 months bravely, and never expressed any self-sympathy or shed one tear. A beloved and devoted mother and wife, she always had a smile and word of encouragement.
She is survived by her husband, Brent Barbee of Carrollton, TX, daughters Christine Barbee and Courtney Barbee of Carrollton, and Brother Paul Emery of Plano, TX.
