Janet was born on August 10, 1938 in Scranton, PA to George and Helen (Guziewicz) Foytack. She married Leonard Biglin, who predeceased her in 1974.
Janet is survived by her devoted daughters Lenette Strong of New London and Darlene Tashea of Waterford; her sister, Romayne Palmer of New Jersey; grandchildren Kevin & Katie DiMaggio and Kayla Strong, all of New London; Matthew Tashea of Waterford; great granddaughter Arianna; Janet’s loving Sons-in-Law Eric Strong and Todd Tashea; loving nieces and great nieces and nephews. Janet also leaves behind special friends Pastor Larry & EvaLynn Richmond, Will & Stacia Hopkins and their children whom Janet adored; Dee Riggs of Groton; and all of the incredible, loving staff at The Groton Regency, whom we lovingly refer to as ‘our family’, as they loved and took care of Mom so beautifully. She loved all of her ‘family’ at The Regency. Janet was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Nicholas Polites, but they are now joyfully reunited in Heaven.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff of Unit 4.1 at L&M Hospital for their excellent, compassionate care given to our Mom. The family would like to thank the Center for Hospice Care nurses and staff for their attentive guidance and compassionate care of our mom. We were truly embraced by their love. They too do the work of angels.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Anchor Baptist Church in Ledyard. The family warmly welcomes all to attend and, if possible, to wear something in Mom’s favorite color, baby blue. Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, New London is handling the arrangements. Please visit www.fultontherouxnewlondon.com to leave a tribute in Janet’s memory, directions and her biography.
The family requests that we honor Janet’s memory by living each day happy, thankful, and to be kind to all, just as Janet lived her life every day.
