On March 4, 2013 Jan Chase of Chevy Chase, MD passed away, surrounded by her family, after a six year battle with bladder and breast cancer. Born in Jamestown, New York on June 27, 1934, she worked at CIT and Goodbody & Co. before moving to Washington, DC in 1955, accepting a position with the FBI in the Training and Inspection Division and then in Personnel. There she met her husband John, then a Special Agent. They moved to Bethesda and eventually settled in Potomac where they raised their three children John, Jr. (Taryn), Lisa Kaiser (Donald) and Julie. Jan worked for West & Feinberg/Abrams, West & Storm, retiring in 2007. She continued to enjoy her family, including grandchildren Madeline and Kendall Kaiser and Ryker and Finn Chase. Jan was a parishioner of the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 11:00am at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 3630 Quesada St., NW Washington. Internment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jan's name to Bladder Cancer Research Fund c/o Brady Urological Institute at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, 600 North Wolfe Street, Attn: Dr. Mark Schoenberg, 150 Marburg, Baltimore, MD, 21287.
