Jason S. Greene 1965-2011 Jason was born on November 24, 1965 at Hartford Hospital to John and Susan Greene. He grew up in Coventry and Storrs, Conn. and graduated from E.O. Smith High School in Storrs. Jason attended Alfred University in upstate New York and earned a BA in Ceramic Arts. He was an artist-in-residence at Moravian Tile Works in Doylestown, Pa. the summer after his graduation and then worked at the Bucks county Community College in the Ceramics Dept. Jason then returned to Alfred and earned his MFA in Ceramics. After graduation Jason went to England to run the pottery in a Camphill Community. This was one of the happiest times of his life. When he returned to the U.S., Jason settled in Londonderry, Vt. to be near his sister, Rachel and step-brother, Bob. He married and had two beautiful children, daughter Paisley and son Fynn. For several years he worked full time as a potter for D. Lasser Ceramics in Londonderry then launched his own business, Greene Potteryworks. He is survived by his children, Paisley Barr and Fynn Greene of Londonderry, Vt.; his mother, Susan Greene of Alexandria, Va.; and his father and step-mother, Jack and Sharon Greene of Brookline, Vt.; his sister, Rachel Greene of Ashford, Conn.; his step-brother Robert Larson and niece and nephew Emmett and Greta Larson of Jamaica, Vt.; his aunt and uncle, George and Geraldine Turkington of Brookfield, Conn. and his cousin, Lauren Turkington of New York City. The building is located on the east side of Route 30 just north of the Newfane town square.
