Jeremiah J. Botelho, "Jerry", age 88, of Fairhaven died December 20, 2011 in St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Olive L. (Rowe) Botelho.
Born in Cambridge, a son of the late Antonio and Aldina (Campas) Botelho, he spent his youth in the Boston area, lived in Orlando, Florida for 21 years, moving to Fairhaven in 2004. He was a graduate of Boston University and a United States Navy Veteran having served during World War II.
A Spanish Teacher in the Boston School System for many years, he retired from Hyde Park High School as Assistant Headmaster in 1983. Mr. Botelho was passionate about all Boston sports teams, loved camping and collected coins and stamps.
Surviving: one daughter: Linda A. Vieira and her husband Stephen A., one son: Gerard J. Botelho, two grandchildren: Michael and Lisa Vieira all of Fairhaven. A Celebration of His Life will be held Saturday, JANUARY 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT FAIRLAWN, 180 Washington St. Fairhaven. Relatives and friends invited.
