Jerome Boniface Glynn, born February 27, 1927 to Louise Armande Sereix Glynn and Thomas Glynn passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013. Preceded in death by his sisters, Mary L. Glynn White, Audrey D. Glynn and his brother, J. William Glynn. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jerome was a graduate of St. Louis Cathedral School, Jesuit High School and an Honor Graduate of Tulane University. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. During his 45 year banking career he served as Senior Vice President and Trust Officer at the National American Bank. He was the former owner of the Old Town Praline Shop on Royal Street. Jerome was a well-respected breeder of thoroughbred horses and his passion and devotion to this sport brought him the honor of being named Breeder of the Year. He was a true Quarterite as he lived most of his 85 years on Royal Street in his beloved French Quarter.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated by Father Nicholas Schiro, S. J. in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 12:00 Noon. Interment followed in St. Roch #2 Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family has requested donations to Jesuit High School, 4133 Banks St., New Orleans, LA 70119.
