Mr. Jerry Columbus Bottoms, 72, formerly of Statesville, died Saturday at the Brian Center Of Mooresville. Born in Iredell County on February 3, 1940, he was a son of the late Gurney Bottoms and Lena Mitchell Bottoms. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Bottoms and a sister, Faye B. Campbell. He was a loving husband, dad and paw paw. He was a member of the Mooresville Church Of God.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bottoms, a son, Todd Bottoms of Newton, a daughter, Mrs. Rick (Connie) White of Concord and grandsons, Caleb and Jacob White both of Concord.
Also surviving are brothers, Frank Bottoms (Polly), Clyde Bottoms (Mary), Allen Bottoms, Jesse Bottoms and Gene Bottoms all of Statesville, and a sister, Joan Smith (Dale) of Bethlehem, N.C. along with several nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating Jerry's life will be conducted at 2:00 Tuesday at Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Lawrence Owenby officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday evening at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
