Jesus Arias was born in Mexicali, Baja, California, on Jan. 27, 1950. He was raised in Tijuana, Mexico. He moved to Los Angeles in 1970, where he met his wife, Maria, in 1976. The family moved in 1982 to Oxnard and started their own janitorial business that same year.
After 22 years in Oxnard, Jesus moved his family to Camarillo in 2004. After living in Camarillo for five years, Jesus died peacefully in his home with his wife by his side.
Jesus loved to spend time with his family and eat A LOT of his wife's home cooked meals. He enjoyed watching the news, had political interests, liked to garden, and liked to play with his two dogs.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francisco Arias Gracia; mother, Maria de la Paz Naranjo de Arias; and brother, Francisco Arias. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Maria Inez Arias (Ney); daughters, Maritza Arias Drake (Pildora) and Cynthia Mabel Arias (Pildorita); son-in-law, Ronald Eugene Drake; brother, Ricardo; sisters, Socoro, Elena and Teresa; brother-in-law, Francisco Cervantes; sisters-in-law, Silvia and Sara; several nieces and nephews, and his dogs, Harley and Poppins Arias.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. with the rosary at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17 at James A. Reardon-Payton Mortuary. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Burial will immediately follow services at Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery.
