Jewel Bean, 86, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at a local nursing home.
Mrs. Bean was of the Baptist faith. She was an Executive Housekeeper for Ramada Inn, in Port Arthur for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Hershel Bean, her parents: Joseph Gayle and Flossie Willis Tomlinson, her son Kenneth W. Bean and son-in-law, Jerry B. Hodgen.
Survivors include daughter, Bobbie Sue Hodgen of Sulphur; daugher-in-law, Nancy Miller Bean of Church Point, LA; son, John T. Hodgen and wife Linda of Summersville, VW; five grandchildren: Kenneth Bean, Jr., Paula Hodgen Fortenberry and husband Kevin of Lexington, SC; Lori Hodgen Reed of Sulphur, Shelly Hodgen Trahan and husband Chad of Hackberry; and Mark Bean and wife Jennifer of Church Point; 7 great grandchildren: Madeline and Lodge Fortenberry, Lynsey Reed, Reece and Calli Trahan, Lydia Bean, and Olivia Bean.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Starks from 10:00 a.m until 11:30 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m at the Doyle Cemetery in Starks, LA under the direction of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy.
