JoAnn Joyce Barney, 72, of Lewisville passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011 while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lawsonville, NC to James Harry and Nannie Ellen Wall Joyce.
She was a member of Snow Hill Methodist Church in Lawsonville, NC and a graduate of Lawsonville High School.
She instilled in her children the value of work and love for one another.
"Mama Jo" was a loving wife, sacrifical mother, and doting grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Barney; brother, James Harry Joyce Jr.; and sister, Evogene Royall.
She is now rejoicing in Heaven, without pain, in her new body!
Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Scott Barney and wife Sally of Advance, NC and Kent Barney and wife Julie of Lewisville, NC; daughters, Sherry Brock and Kandace Westmoreland and husband Tony of Lewisville, NC; brother, Maynard Joyce of Hillsville, VA; and 9 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011, 2:00 P.M., at Vogler and Sons Clemmons Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons.
