Joan Viola Ballard Neville passed away on 1/18/13 at St Joseph's Medical Center after a short illness. She was 78 yrs old. She was a lifetime resident of Yonkers, NY. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1952 with a Secretarial Degree. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. A real modern day tech junkie. She facetimed with her family every night & was a master of words with friends. She is survived by her brother, Gary Grant of California, her Daughter Darlene Ballard of Ohio, daughter, Renee Brown of Yonkers, NY, son and daughter in law, Gary and Tameka Neville. Her 12 grandchildren, Jonelle, Edie, Kisha, Amber, Laura, Antoine, Latia, Rita, Neivana, Evauna, Diamond & Gary II. Her 15 great grand children, Nyiem, Jadyn, Idaya, Tierni, Laila, Brandon Jr, Najayah, Jaylen, India, Asia, Anthony, Chioma, Jasmine, Jacob & David. She is preceded by her son, William Ballard, her granddaughter, LaShonda, and great granddaughter, Angel. She leaves behind more family and friends than any one person could hope for in a lifetime. Visitation will be at the Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday January 22, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be at 11am on Wednesday January 23, 2013 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery.
