Joe W. ("Dub") Yowell, Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend went to be with our Lord on July 28, 2014. He was the previous owner of the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company of El Paso. JW was one of the founders of Westside Church of Christ, a championship golfer, fisherman, hunter, an avid UTEP Miner supporter and fan. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy and was a member of the El Paso High School Graduating Class of 1950.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irma Yowell and children, Nancy Jo Cowden (Lee), Charline Rivera, Christine Cramer (Kenneth), John R. Yowell (Kimberly), Deanna Rivera, and Bobbie Villareal (Andres). Grandchildren: Heath Cowden, Lisa Marie Cowden, Jennifer Schroeder, Douglas Cramer, Victoria Russell, Aaron Monty, Ericha Brown, Jordan Ramsey, Jacey Barrier, Jeremy W. Yowell, Alexandra Villareal, Nicholas Villareal. Great Grandchildren: Cord, Tye and Cole Cowden, Ava Marie Schroeder and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held at Westside Church of Christ, 100 Crestmont Drive, El Paso, Texas 79912, Friday, August 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley, Santa Teresa, NM. Services entrusted to FDA Harding Orr & McDaniel Funeral Home. 320 Montana El Paso, TX.

Dub you gave me first airplane ride at Pearl Harbor during the Korean War. You were part of the crew that towed targets for aircraft to shoot at for practice. I was sacred to death. We both served in the navy during that period. Rest in peace, you were a great guy. Ray Matthews
