John E. "Jack" Connors

August 21, 1928 - May 3, 2012
John E. "Jack" Connors, 83, of East Syracuse, passed away Thursday. Born in Syracuse on August 22, 1928, he was the son of Maude Ruth Casey Conners and Charles E. Conners. He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes Azzolino Connors on February 24, 2007; sister, Nancy Rinaldo; and his brother, Thomas Conners. John grew up in Camillus and attended Camillus High School. He was a Marine Corps Veteran serving from 1945-1949. John worked for Loblaws Food Markets and Prestolite. For over 36 years, he worked as a patrolman for General Electric. While at General Electric, he served in various union offices of the Independent Union of Plant Protection Employees, Local 5, including Shift Steward, Vice President and Chief Steward. John was also a communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church and a member of St. Peter's Young at Heart Senior Citizen's Club.

Surviving are his niece, Linda (Richard) Maloof; nephews, Joseph (Debbie) Rinaldo, Jr., Michael Rinaldo, Scott Rinaldo, Thomas (Mary) Azzolino, George (MaryAnn) Azzolino, and Michael (Kathleen) Azzolino; and many grand and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday 9:15 A.M. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 P.M. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse.
