John Coy Adams, our Beloved Father and Grandfather, was born February 12, 1917 in Reese, Texas. He passed away October 14, 2011, in Redlands, California. John was the 8th of 10 children and the last, surviving to the age of 94. He joined the U S Army in 1941 as a Private and served our country until 1946, leaving as a First Lieutenant. He served for 30 months in Africa and Italy during World War II. He was a Transportation Officer, overseeing 56 drivers and 56 trucks. He also served as a Communication Specialist overseas and at the Pentagon. He was very proud of his time spent in the military. John was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Darow and Constance Trevina and also his grandson, Adam Darow. He is survived by his children, Amy Wallis of Portales, New Mexico, Maggie Dyches of Beaumont, California, Jamie Hughes of Beaumont, California and John Adams, Jr, of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; his former spouse, Pat Adams of Portales, New Mexico; his grandchildren, Michele Dorow, Heather Trevina, Angelina Trevina, Christopher (USArmy) & Brittany Szoyka, Michael Szoykz (USArmy), Sara Szoyka, Nichole Swoda, James Troutman, April & Nick Zarate, Jennifer Pugh, Samantha Hilton, Serena Hilton and Coby Daumen; great grandchildren, Jessica Dyches, JD Swoda, Katelynn Williams, Travin & Westin Troutman, Zachary & Dillan Zarate, Maddison Aguirre, Kinsley Szoyka, Lakai Hilton, Michael Hilton and Anthony Hilton. John was a long standing member of Beaumont First Assembly of God Church. He served and loved the Lord each and every day of his life. When ever he came across someone who needed help, he made it his personal responsibility to help them. He was loved by so many and will be missed greatly. Graveside services will be Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area #2, Riverside, California. Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, CA.
